The Pillars of an Award-Winning Program
Sonos was selected as a 2023 Campus Forward Award Winner for their unwavering commitment to seeking out and hiring early career talent, their emphasis on diversity & inclusion, and investments in nurturing and retaining the next generation of talent. Please see below for the highlights of their approach to early career recruitment.
Demonstrated Investment in Early Career Hiring
The Early Talent Program at Sonos is passionate about investing in the next generation of talent through providing learning and development opportunities to drive practical training, apply classroom learning, and enhance career skills. Sonos believes that engaging early career professionals will not only help grow healthier and more balanced teams, but allow for increased understanding of the next generation of talent on a company-wide scale.
Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment
The Early Talent Programs team at Sonos leverages a variety of platforms, allowing for some flexibility in how and where interns and co-ops are recruited. Sonos looks to explore talent outside of the schools local to their offices. Coupled with this strategy, understanding that the Early Talent Program is a viable pipeline for underrepresented talent, Sonos has also began to form relationships with HBCUs and HSIs alike to spread awareness about the program and build communities of interested students.
Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
Sonos believes that representation at all levels, especially entry-level, can build healthier more effective teams. Sonos has the opportunity to increase representation in a number of areas and focuses those goals in the recruitment of early talent. The Early Talent Programs team has worked to form relationships with minority clubs and student lead groups, HBCUs, and HSIs this recruiting season in hopes for more long-term arrangements to both nurture those talent communities and connect them to opportunities at Sonos.
Impactful Internship Program
Sonos' Early Talent Program is unique because of the real-world technical and professional experience that interns and co-ops gain, along with the intention to convert them into full-time employees. Along with the developmental opportunities, in line with its approach to Intentional Flexibility, interns and co-ops can participate in the program from an office or remotely. Summer programming is currently built around the remote experience in an effort to be inclusive of all.
Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent
With Sonos' approach to intentional flexibility, it has become more important than ever that the focus on development keeps interns and co-ops engaged and connected to Sonos culture. While working at Sonos, interns and co-ops will participate in events that create community amongst themselves, allow them to learn from and get to know company leaders, and provide opportunities for fun and giving back to the community. Holistic development, as a leader and professional, is where the Early Talent Program at Sonos is working to thrive.
