Shanique Richards is an Early Careers Partner at Navy Federal Credit Union, where she manages Navy Federal’s partnership with Year Up, a six-month internship for young adults between the ages of 18-29 from diverse backgrounds. She also recruits for the Summer Associate Program, an internship for students enrolled in a degree-seeking program who work in highly skilled areas within science, technology, engineering, mathematics, business, strategy, and operations. Prior to her role at Navy Federal Credit Union, Shanique was an Emerging Talent Engagement Manager where she drove outreach strategies for HBCUs and HSIs, in addition to planning and executing conference strategies and partnerships with various organizations. Shanique is passionate about early career recruiting, intentional recruiting, and creating inclusive hiring practices.
Career Highlight
"I have attended diversity focused events at universities, such as the George Washington University School of Business Diversity & Allyship Round Table Breakfast, where I was able to connect with students and discuss Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, company culture, and Navy Federal’s recruiting programs. I have also attended national diversity conferences, such as Grace Hopper Celebration and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers’ annual convention, where I actively engaged with attendees and provided information about our early in career programs. I leverage the national diversity conferences to connect and recruit students from underrepresented communities. Additionally, I prioritize an inclusive recruitment process by leveraging a school agnostic approach to identify talent for our early career programs, which resulted in hires from over 60 colleges and universities across the nation."
