Demonstrated Investment in Early Career Hiring

ServiceNow knows that Early in Career (EIC) is essential for winning the future of work. Talent shortage is going to be one of the most important topics in business, so it is critical to hire the right people with the potential for growth and development. By investing in EIC, ServiceNow is also investing in innovation and diversity of thoughts and experiences through the most diverse generation in history (Gen Z) – ultimately resulting in a way to change the world of work for everyone.

Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment

ServiceNow’s Early in Career strategy begins and ends with the mission “to make the world work better for everyone”. ServiceNow deploys a diverse team of professionals who can not only relate to potential candidates, but can also find and meet candidates where they are. While hiring is a large priority, it is not the only one. ServiceNow seeks to develop candidates whether they choose the company or not. ServiceNow views partnering with universities as more than just showing up on campuses for hiring events. Some examples where ServiceNow was able to partner beyond recruiting include assisting in Jackson, Mississippi during the water crisis, and providing disaster relief supplies to partner schools in Puerto Rico. This approach may be different than traditional recruiting strategies, but ServiceNow takes pride in inspiring hope, in addition to providing job opportunities.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

DEI is not just an initiative for ServiceNow — it is part of the fabric of the company’s approach and reflected in its makeup. Its strategy includes a persona-based focus on underrepresented groups, metrics around inclusive engagement on campus, and a diverse slate of sourcing channels, including conferences like Grace Hopper and AfroTech. HSIs and HBCUs are core components, but so is LGBTQ+, women, and individuals who have traditionally not had access to tech. ServiceNow is using digital platforms to meet people where they are, and breaking down systemic barriers for the talented overlooked. When it comes to retention, DEI is woven into all of ServiceNow’s early career programming. ServiceNow’s programs create a focus on DEI through providing VR-inspired simulations, creating psychologically safe environments for early career professionals to learn and develop, and having brave & authentic conversations so everyone can bring their whole selves to work.

Impactful Internship Program

The ServiceNow internship program is about attracting — and retaining — top talent. The team does that by giving interns meaningful work filled with real challenges, real responsibilities, and real impact on ServiceNow’s environment, customers, and communities. ServiceNow strives to create a cohesive program for all incoming interns geared around 3 pillars: social impact, professional development, and community building. Key components of the program include strong feedback-driven relationships between managers and interns, day-to-day interactions with buddies, and the inclusion of former interns as peer mentors. Memorable activities include career speaker sessions, a chocolate tasting event, volunteer and fun events held virtually and in-person, and Global Intern Week, which brings the global interns together virtually for skill-building, networking, and fun. The week includes a cross-regional and cross-functional team building activity, resiliency training, an interactive Q&A session with a ServiceNow executive, special swag, and a DJ celebration to end the week.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

ServiceNow knows that access to learning, opportunities for personal development, and a clear career pathway are essential to peoples’ satisfaction at work. The newly launched ServiceNow Learning Experience Platform, frED, ensures that learning is available across devices in a personalized, relevant way so employees can build the skills they need to do their best work and prepare for the future. This aligns with ServiceNow’s “people pact”, which commits to helping employees live their best lives, do their best work, and fulfill their purpose together. In 2022, in addition to established programs in the Finance, Solution Consulting, and Platform organizations, ServiceNow began its first global cohorts of the Launchpad Development Program, which is an 18-month cross-functional program focused on professional skills development and community building. To date, over 1,000 participants have begun their development journey through this program, with 97% of participants recommending the program to a peer.
