Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment

In the first year of its internship program recruitment, SentinelOne prioritized identifying and sponsoring diversity organizations dedicated to empowering and supporting women in tech. This past year, SentinelOne became a Tier 1 sponsor to WiCys (Women in Cybersecurity), a global organization conscientiously helping recruit and support women in cybersecurity. Moving forward, SentinelOne's goal is to sponsor more diverse student organizations throughout the country and build virtual seminars and workshops to reach more students throughout the globe with resources and networking opportunities to strengthen relationships and brand awareness. The company is also committed to identifying more diverse organizations supporting its vision of building an apprenticeship program for underrepresented early talent to break into the tech industry. The University Team is also committed to creating the best candidate experience for its prospects by being available and transparent throughout the interview process.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

One of SentinelOne's top commitments is prioritizing diversity hiring in its recruitment strategy for early talent. SentinelOne is committed to increasing female representation in the cybersecurity space and in the past year sponsored national conferences focused on this mission, including Grace Hopper and WiCys (Women in Cybersecurity). This past year, SentinelOne also launched its first-ever Women Inclusion Network, built with the purpose of providing a safe space and community to support, empower, and educate women and allies at the company about experiences and conversations toward gender equality in technology. SentinelOne has also launched other inclusion networks including Latinos @ S1 and Sentinels Who Served (Veterans Inclusion Network), with many more inclusion networks set to launch in 2023. The university team is also working on sponsoring local BIPOC-identifying student chapters and organizations to help increase awareness of opportunities in tech through workshops and fireside chats.

Impactful Internship Program

At SentinelOne, the internship program extends beyond adding an experience on your resume. Interns are given impactful projects and responsibilities that have high-level impact to the work at SentinelOne, alongside having a mentor and manager who provide mentorship and professional development to help identify their growth at the company and beyond. Community is also an important aspect of SentinelOne’s internship program. During the program, interns have a biweekly Brunch & Learn series where they connect with leaders at SentinelOne to learn about their career experiences and have Q&A sessions. The intern programming also includes bonding activity workshops where interns can connect with other interns and the university team (examples include food making classes, escape rooms, and other fun activities). Interns also get to attend professional development workshops and have access to learning and development resources at SentinelOne to support their interests.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

SentinelOne’s internship program is designed with the goal of converting interns to full-time hires at the company. With this in mind, mentorship is top priority for the intern program. Interns are assigned a mentor and manager who help create professional and personal goals from the get-go, as well as have the University Team as a resource to explore opportunities at SentinelOne post-internship. For its inaugural summer internship class, 50% of interns plan to return to the company as a full-time hire after their graduation. The company invests in the retention and success of its early talent hires through a robust and welcoming onboarding program, learning and development tools and workshops, professional development and career mapping resources, Inclusion Networks, remote flexibility, and a robust and comprehensive benefits package to support their well-being inside and outside of work.
