The Highlights of Sendero's Approach to Early Career Hiring
Building an Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruiting
Sendero embraced the opportunity for expansion during the transition to primarily virtual recruiting in 2020 and continued to build on that strategy in 2021. Sendero's employees consistently share that the people and team at Sendero are what make it a special place to work, so Sendero's early talent team focused on ways continue to provide personalized interactions in an increasingly virtual world. In conjunction with transitioning to a school-agnostic approach to recruitment, the Sendero team implemented a Campus Recruiting Ambassador program for employees to build relationships with candidates, added innovative optional virtual learning sessions for candidates at various stages of the interview process, and encouraged new and existing employees to engage together on social media through offer acceptance posts and graphics.
Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience
Sendero's campus recruiting team understands that the communication and experience needs of early career talent have changed, and continue to evolve, rapidly. One of the Sendero team's most valued commitments is to respond to every applicant for every job, no matter what the decision is, within a 2 week application window. From there, every student invited to advance goes through a consistent interview process that allows them to highlight their own unique accomplishments. At each stage of the interview process, students are provided with custom interview pre-reads, tailored to the needs of early talent, to give them meaningful discussion topic ideas for Q&A with their interviewers and a better understanding of their career potential at Sendero.
Moving the Needle on Diversity & Inclusion
Sendero believes in hiring high potential entry-level talent, and growing, developing, and retaining them to become the organization's future leaders. Therefore, commitment to hiring diverse talent in Sendero's early talent programs is key to the organization's success. In addition to having a school agnostic recruiting strategy, Sendero is also major agnostic. Hiring across all majors and degree programs is one of Sendero's favorite and most successful ways of increasing diversity of thought within the company. Sendero also invests in key strategic partnerships with diversity focused recruiting technologies and partners with university student organizations that focus on the needs of underrepresented students.
Investing in Impactful Internship Programs
At Sendero, interns are placed on a current consulting project with a team of full-time consultants and gain real, hands-on consulting experience. Sendero's interns also meet weekly with a member of the Senior Leadership Team to discuss a professional development topic and learn more about how their career could take shape at Sendero. Additionally, the interns work together as a group to research, develop, and present a company-wide learning session on a topic of their choice. This great opportunity introduces the interns to Sendero's culture of continuous learning, and employees at all levels have benefitted greatly from the cutting-edge topics that interns choose to share.
Supporting the Growth and Development of Entry-Level Talent
Sendero is a great place for new graduates to build a career. As a management consulting firm, project-based work and new experiences are a built in part of the role. On top of the exciting job opportunity itself, Sendero goes above and beyond in training, mentorship, and career development. Every employee has a dedicated career path, Career Adviser to help them navigate their growth, and documented resources to reference what they can be working on at each level of their career.
