Samsara's Emerging Talent team continuously focuses on candidate experience and employee success to ensure everyone involved in the program has an impactful and exceptional experience.

Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment

The Emerging Talent team at Samsara goes above and beyond to connect with the next generation of talent both on and off campus. Adopting a hybrid approach to recruitment, the team crafted a diverse set of virtual and in-person events available to students at universities across the country. Once students enter the pipeline, the team at Samsara prioritizes candidate experience by prepping candidates, being available for questions at every step of the process, and making connections points with the business.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Samsara has company-wide representation goals that early career hires can move the needle on. Samsara's Emerging Talent team is incredibly passionate about finding and connecting with a diverse range of students. The team crafted sourcing strategies to attract candidates from a range of HBCUs, HSIs, and women's colleges in addition to ensuring all other universities it attends have high diversity amongst their student population. Once interns and new grads join Samsara, they are introduced to and encouraged to participate in Samsara's ERGs, mentorship programs, and more.

Impactful Internship Program

Samsara's internship program is dedicated to providing an impactful learning experience by ensuring projects are thoroughly scoped and consist of meaningful work that deliver real business impact. Interns are assigned a mentor to receive support and guidance through weekly office hours and 1:1s. They also participate in “Sharing Fridays” where they demo what they’re working on and give a final presentation at the end of the program. AMAs are also organized for interns to have exclusive access to Samsara's executive team. They take part in intern-specific social events as well as company-wide events such as monthly town halls, mid-year kickoff, and a number of social events offered in person or virtually.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

Samsara goes above and beyond to set up its new full-time hires for long-term success at the company. Starting with a robust onboarding, entry-level hires are provided not only with on-the-job training, but the building blocks for professional success at the company. All new hires are paired with an onboarding buddy to serve as a resource while they're acclimating. New grads dive into real projects soon after starting to make an early impact and gain hands-on experience. Employees are presented with career frameworks to provide clarity on career progression as Samsara. Employees are encouraged to have an active personal development plan and regular career conversations with their leaders to ensure they are continuously growing and working towards their career goals. In addition to mentors, employees can participate in Samsara's coffee chat program, mentorship program, clubs, and ERGs to establish connections early on.
