From its award-winning internship, to its end-to-end DE&I strategies, to its robust #recent-grads community, Rubrik is passionate about continuing to find ways to engage, hire, and retain top early career talent.

Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment

Rubrik transitioned its Early Career Talent strategy from a target school format to a hybrid recruitment approach in order to give all students, regardless of school prestige or location, an opportunity to land an internship with the company. Its university recruitment engagement strategies range from hosting virtual events that are open to all students across the country (most recently, “Women @ Rubrik: Kicking Off Your Software Engineering Career”), holding 1:1 sessions at conferences like the Grace Hopper Conference, interacting with students at virtual career fairs, and connecting with students through their early career recruitment platform, RippleMatch. Once students begin the interview process with Rubrik, they can expect a high-touch candidate experience with a dedicated member of the Early Career Talent Team.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

DE&I is an integral part of Rubrik’s end-to-end early career talent strategy. Rubrik has consistently ensured that its recruitment processes are rooted in fair and equitable values — from the way that roles are opened, to the early career training that hiring managers are required to participate in, to its holistic approach of diversity engagement and recruitment, Rubrik is proud to offer an experience that is representative of the company’s values. Rubrik leverages RippleMatch as a way to connect with diverse talent, in addition to engaging with diverse talent through conferences such as The Grace Hopper Conference. In terms of the community that interns and new grads from underrepresented backgrounds can expect to join upon starting at the company, Rubrik offers a strong support system in the form of mentorship, employee resource groups, and development programs.

Impactful Internship Program

Rubrik provides an opportunity for early-career talent to translate their education and life experiences into meaningful and impactful hands-on professional learning. During their twelve weeks with the company, interns at Rubrik are fully integrated onto a team, where they have the opportunity to contribute to challenging projects that develop new features on its products, strengthen its infrastructure, and support its customers. This past summer, interns at Rubrik were exposed to a variety of events including networking opportunities with Rubrik’s community — ranging from recent graduates to Rubrik’s CEO and CPO, a Professional Development Workshop series, which included sessions such as “Navigating the Corporate Space While Being Your Most Authentic Self”, and volunteering events such as partnering with a non-profit to support children in foster care. These types of programs are part of Rubrik’s investment in early career talent, leading to an 80% full-time conversion rate (and a 90% offer acceptance rate).

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

Rubrik believes that setting new grads up with the proper support is essential for their long-term success. New grads can expect to go through a robust onboarding program, receive dedicated mentorship for a manager and member of their team, and participate in developmental workshops. Additionally, new grads have the opportunity to join the #recent-grads community, a 100+ person group of employees who graduated within the last three years that meets regularly in both virtual and in-person settings. The group’s most recent activities included a whitewater rafting and camping event, monthly virtual dessert club meetings, and local monthly happy hours.
