Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment
Royal Caribbean Group’s University Relations Team utilized virtual reality technology to reach students globally. Students built their own avatar and gathered in the auditorium to learn more about RCG. The team created a virtual campus that allowed students to interact with business leaders. After the virtual information session and Q&A, students danced the night away with a DJ and ended the night with a fireworks show.
Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
Representation is very important to Royal Caribbean Group. The company is intentional about recruiting students that reflect its customer base, and puts emphasis on targeting HBCUs, HSIs, and Asian American Pacific Islander Institutions. RCG was able to recruit over 50%t of its summer interns from diverse colleges and universities.
Impactful Internship Program
At RCG, interns are empowered with impact projects. This past summer, students participated in case competitions that were judged by C-Suite Executives. As an end of summer incentive, students experienced the product in an immersive way by sailing on the Freedom of Seas for a three-day cruise with fellow interns.
Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent
Royal Caribbean Group goes above and beyond to set new hires up for success at the company. Day one of their internship students have a full-day, immersive onboarding where they are introduced to senior leaders. Each week, interns participate in professional development classes and are able to participate with Employee Resource Groups. Career paths are outlined and professional panels are available to interns.
