Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

The campus recruiting team at Raymond James have dedicated Talent Advisors (TA’s) who are responsible for sourcing, attracting, and engaging with students. While many organizations are moving solely to school-agnostic digital sourcing strategies, the TA’s are intentional with executing a core school model with support from school champions representing the firmwide business units. In addition, they are focused on creating greater access to all students and educating candidates prior to application. The TA’s balance their recruiting strategies across both in-person events at core schools and digital sourcing, moving candidates through the hiring funnel. Through these sourcing efforts, the TA’s build relationships with students and leverage a CRM to capture notes as part of the internal hand-off to the Business Advisors, campus recruiting professionals, who manage the hiring requisitions for interns + entry-level positions.

Standout Candidate Experience

The campus recruiting team at Raymond James have success with hiring student referrals from employees for internship + entry-level positions, therefore; a recent initiative was focused on enhancing the candidate experience for student referrals. The team launched a new internal process streamlining how student referrals are submitted for consideration, driving referrals to a student talent community, which is a pipeline for sourcing and engagement efforts. Upon entry into the community, the campus team has created automation for instant outreach, to both the student and the referring employee, to receive information on career opportunities and hiring timelines. From there, referrals are contacted by recruiters, to ensure quality engagement. These enhancements have introduced a new level of transparency and trust among candidates and employees we value as part of the hiring culture at Raymond James. We also rolled out a comprehensive continued engagement messaging and gifting campaign from offer acceptance through start date.

Innovative Use of Technology

The campus recruiting team at Raymond James understands the importance of leveraging technology to support innovation and efficiency into their hiring process. The team recently implemented an events management and CRM tool allowing for streamlined events management and attendance tracking for both students and internal staff supporting events. The team is also leveraging the tool to manage a new internal student referral process, while building a talent community through campaign outreach in other digital platforms. The team is proud of the system automation they have incorporated during the Fall 2023 into their sourcing workflow, which has enhanced the candidate experience and engagement. In addition, the new tools will be integrated with the roll-out of a new ATS implementation.
