Rabia Abedin - Nominee for Talent Innovator Award - 2022 Campus Recruiting Choice Awards

Rabia Abedin is an experienced Talent Acquisition professional and DEI advocate. Currently, she is the Manager of Early Career Programs & Diversity Outreach at DreamWorks Animation, the animation arm of NBCU. Here she builds, develops and drives DreamWorks Animation’s talent development programs for emerging artists and creators. She works hard to increase BIPOC representation across the studio and creates immersive experiences for students of all backgrounds to educate them about the animation industry. Formerly, she was at The Walt Disney Company for 6 years in HR and talent acquisition.

Career Highlight

Rabia spearheaded the creation of a new talent development program focused on advancing opportunities in animation for HBCU students. This fellowship program selected 17 HBCU students to go through an 8-week program where they learn from Black filmmakers, creatives & executives across the studio and are mentored by some of the brightest and best in animation. Rabia was excited to build out this program with diversity-focused external partnerships and is proud to be a part a studio that prioritizes eliminating barriers of entry in animation for Black students and new graduates.
