Rabia Abedin - Nominee for Exceptional Leader Award

Rabia Abedin is a Manager, Early Career Programs & Diversity Outreach at DreamWorks Animation. In this role she leads the program management of the studio's early career programs and is responsible for its design, outreach, hiring and experiences. She also furthers the studio's DEI outreach efforts across all levels of talent for the studio. Prior to her role at DreamWorks Animation, Rabia spent six years at The Walt Disney Company, recruiting for Parks & Resorts and Disney Consumer Products & Interactive Media. She is excited to bring historically marginalized groups to the forefront of entertainment via creative and enriching programs.

Career Highlight

Rabia has taken DreamWorks Animation to a completely new level of outreach, enrichment and experience in its Early Careers programs. She rebuilt a new team to spearhead diverse Intern and Trainee programs while also creating new DEI outreach strategies for the studio - placing them in Vault's Top 10 for 2021 Best Media & Telecom Internships. Her efforts have also led to forge several new diversity-focused partnerships with local and national organizations in addition to hiring from HBCUs and HSIs.
