Gen Z talent is increasingly valuable to PCG. Interns and young professionals that the company hires today have the potential to make an enormous impact — they just need that open door. PCG helps bridge that gap by hiring a lot of career starters with 0-3 years of professional experience, which includes students who are about to graduate from college and recent graduates. PCG has been successfully recruiting today’s generation of early career talent through an understanding of their attributes, an empathy for their values, and a recruiting process that engages their interests and preferences.
Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment
PCG communicates very clear career paths, showcasing how early career talent are going to engage within the organization, and connecting them early in the process with employees or leaders who might end up being mentors to give them a behind-the-scenes look into the organization. PCG also offers project-based work that can make the work feel more meaningful.
Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
Public Consulting Group built a brand and a business that’s open to all and removes barriers. The company started talent-recruiting from more schools, and offering virtual interviews and remote work opportunities for underrepresented groups including women, people of color, and people with disabilities. PCG has employee resource groups to build community, and allow space for open discussions about important issues to create a culture of inclusivity. These groups are integral to the success of PCG’s overall DEI strategy that helps candidates see themselves in a workplace, and are forums for employees to share commonality.
Impactful Internship Program
PCG offers a structured, 10-week internship program that includes face-time with the CEO and senior leadership. The program also involves "Lunch and Learns" with each practice area, and allows interns to work on major projects from beginning to end, thereby getting a meaningful work experience at PCG.
Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent
Throughout the internship program, participants are provided career advice and trainings to make them successful in their job and role and help them develop valuable skills. PCG also ensures that interns are constantly receiving feedback and are on track with their goals, which is an important step in providing a personalized experience for each intern.
