Building an Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruiting
Faced with another year of virtual recruiting, the Plaid university team focused on leveraging this as an opportunity to diversify and expand their school set with a selection of open events in addition to school-specific events. The team participated and hosted industry panels, information sessions and more intimate coffee chats to give a range of perspectives and experiences. Additionally, the team engaged former interns to connect with their classmates about their experiences and directly share prospective candidates with the Plaid team.
Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience
The university recruiting team at Plaid values their candidates and wants to ensure students have a fantastic experience. They engage with students on campus and virtually via a variety of different events designed to foster conversation and share insights about the company and respective roles. The team shares tips on what to expect in the process and how to best prepare and set up conversations to help address questions. The team always values feedback and have a post-process survey that informs year over year improvements.
Moving the Needle on Diversity & Inclusion
The Plaid university recruiting team is passionate about finding and engaging with a diverse range of students across the country. They have forged new relationships with HBCUs, HSIs and public universities as well as fostered partnerships with national and regional organizations. They have also hosted specific events focused on highlighting the experiences of BIPOC, women, and LGBTQIA+ Plaids. The team partners with Plaid employee resource groups when building strategies every season and always welcomes feedback from employees and candidate to continue to improve.
Investing in Impactful Internship Programs
At Plaid, interns are empowered with impactful projects that contribute to real business outcomes in addition to fostering close relationships and having fun. The program includes a variety of different events focused on professional development such as lunch & learns, executive conversations, culture coffees with different business functions, final presentations with the company and more. Plaid also recognizes the importance of community building and have several events focused on fostering engagement and having fun such as cooking classes, virtual game nights, company-wide hackathons and more.
Supporting the Growth and Development of Entry-Level Talent
Plaid values new graduate hires and wants to set them up for success. Plaid has a robust onboarding that begins with company wide onboarding followed by function-specific onboarding. They have growth guides to support employees in their development and managers help to craft employee specific growth plans. Plaid also has employee resource groups that offer a variety of different supports such as mentorship programming, internal events and more.
