Demonstrated Investment in Early Career Hiring

Philips believes in being a 'Talent Builder' instead of a 'Talent Buyer', and supports global initiatives to build, not buy talent. Graduates are flexible and able to adapt easily to changing environments and infuse the workplace with fresh knowledge, drive, and creativity. Early career talent gives Philips the opportunity to create a more diverse workforce and better serve customers.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Philips has been recognized by Forbes in the categories of 'America's Best Employer for Women' and 'America's Best Employer for Diversity' — and it starts with emerging talent. To ensure the company recruits a diverse slate of talent, Philips has attended the NBMAA and TMCF, as well as forged new partnerships with HBCUs. In addition, Philips offers early career talent the opportunity to join one of its many employee resource groups, including the Black employee resource group, Pride Employee Resource group, or LatinX Employee Resource group.

Impactful Internship Program

Philips has found that 95% of its interns would like to return to work with the company in the future — which is the case because its interns and co-ops work on meaningful projects and contribute to solutions that impact the business. Interns participate in its robust summer program, where Philips drives engagement through ice cream socials, lunch and learns, and a Leadership Engagement Series. Philips operates in a hybrid model where students are in the office 3 days per week and remote 2 days per week, which gives students the opportunity to engage in team-building while also maintaining a work-life balance.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

Philips makes a commitment to their employees on day one by providing an assigned mentor. The mentor at Philips helps with onboarding, team introductions, and anything to make sure the new hire is set up for success. Philips has a robust training program for new hires including in-person and online events. Plus, Philips’ leadership programs provide an additional layer of support to new hires, allowing for career exploration prior to committing to a long-term focus.
