Oscar is a veterinary recruiter at Roo Veterinary, Inc. In their role, Oscar is the sole veterinary recruiter tasked with with growing new markets from a recruiting perspective for the growth and expansion of Roo into new markets across the country. Prior to transitioning to the veterinary field, Oscar recruited in human health for well over a decade, helping several large national healthcare organizations hire passionate healthcare professionals. Oscar refers to himself as a "people advocate." His journey into recruiting stemmed from a desire to improve and enhance the candidate experience through diversity and inclusion.
Career Highlight
"When I joined the veterinary field, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to recruit and work with so many new graduates in the industry! My team and I worked with universities across the country to engage with student-led clubs, sororities/fraternities, and educators to enhance our DE&I approach and achieve our goals. We launched externships, awarded scholarships, and provided tools and resources for studying in order to give students the best chance come finals. I'm particularly proud of the partnership we've had with African American, Hispanic, and LGBTQIA clubs and organizations to boost these underserved and underrepresented communities with opportunities."
