Nicole Furnia - Nominee for Exceptional Leader Award

Nicole Furnia is the University Relations Manager for North America with Eaton Corp. She joined Eaton in April 2017 and has held the role of Campus Manager and Sr. Campus Manager previously. In those roles she managed the recruiting for Eaton’s U.S. undergraduate and master’s Business Programs, including Accounting/Finance, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Human Resources and Supply Chain Management. In addition, Nicole has managed the Eaton relationship with more than 12 of the 25 target universities where she has built strong, strategic relationships with the business schools, career management offices, faculty and student orgs.

Career Highlight

Nicole stepped into the Eaton UR Manager role in April 2020. At that time, the team had no idea to what extent Covid would change its campus recruiting strategy. Nicole and her team worked closely together to maintain as much of their strategy as possible. Nicole challenged the team to be creative and seek events, just like they would do if they were going to campus in-person. An example of creative events the team did was to host an all inclusive event for their NSBE, SHPE and SWE student orgs, giving students from each university org to connect on the same event, network and learn about Eaton!
