Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment

MGMRI strives to find new ways to find and connect with early career talent. To do this, MGMRI recruits in-person and virtually at numerous career fairs, placing a strong emphasis on HBCUs and HSIs. MGMRI is also mindful about matching the right recruitment strategies with the needs of the company. For instance, MGMRI recently spent time connecting with students and early career talent at the National Black MBA Association and at Prospanica. MGMRI is not only committed to fostering growth and success for members of the company, but it also has an intentional focus on diverse and historically marginalized groups.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Leadership at MGMRI is fiercely committed to diversity and inclusion initiatives. What sets MGMRI apart, however, is that it is taking concrete action on recruiting and employing diverse candidates rather than simply saying it needs to be done. Talent Acquisition at MGMRI in particular has a robust plan for moving D&I initiatives forward into the new year. MGMRI creates pipelines with colleges and universities with diverse students, veteran groups, and numerous workforce development partners in the community.

Impactful Internship Program

MGMRI currently has three internship programs — the Hospitality Internship Program, Management Associate Program, and Culinary Associate Program. The Hospitality Internship is well-suited for college juniors and seniors looking to gain experience and insight about the hospitality industry, whether that be hotel operation, food and beverage, or gaming. The Associate programs are geared toward recent graduates looking for leadership and management experience. These 10-month professional development opportunities help new talent learn the ins and outs of the hospitality and culinary industries by learning from business leaders, rotating through different functional areas, and intentional classroom-based instruction. The majority of associate participants stay on with MGMRI after their program and continue on into meaningful long-term careers. Internship participants also receive one-on-one advising from a company leader, can participate in company-wide events, and gain valuable networking opportunities.

MGMRI believes a strong support system and onboarding process leads to long-term success of new talent brought into the company.
