About McDonald's Corporation
McDonald’s purpose is to feed and foster communities.
When they say, “billions served,” they're not just talking about burgers. They're talking about serving their communities, customers, crew, farmers, franchisees and suppliers. Because McDonald's knows there’s a difference between being in a community and being part of one.

The Pillars of an Award-Winning Program
McDonald's Corporation was selected as a 2024 Campus Forward Award Winner for their unwavering commitment to seeking out and hiring early career talent and investments in nurturing and retaining the next generation of diverse talent. Please see below for the highlights of their approach to early career recruitment.
Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment
The University Recruiting team at McDonald’s Corporation takes a hybrid approach to recruiting early career talent. The teams have partnered with the greater talent team and business function to identify schools and conferences to attend during the recruitment season. The University Recruiting team has a focus on attending function related, diversity conferences, and a core HBCU and HSI strategy. The team attends/hosts both virtual and in person events to create a well-rounded approach to creating diverse candidate slates and providing a great candidate experience by introducing them to as much of McDonald’s as possible.
Standout Candidate Experience
The University Team’s goal is to create a hiring process where candidates are introduced to as much of McDonald’s as possible from application to offer decisions. The team coaches and offers transparent feedback to candidates throughout the process to ensure they are comfortable and understand the full interview process. The team focuses on getting to know candidates in various capacities and having them learn more about the business. Post interview process, the team has implemented a survey to track data and make improvements as needed.
Impactful Internship Program
The McDonald’s Internship program provides a well-rounded experience where there are both professional and person development opportunities. McDonald's offers an array of experiences for students in technology, business, marketing, finance, supply chain, and human resources. The program focuses on real projects that are often deployed to help innovate our restaurant and crew member experience. Through the program of events, interns learn the ins and outs of McDonald’s (ever wonder what it takes to work on the Happy Meal team?), meet with leaders from different function areas, and connect with peers/employees across the business. The goal of the internship program is to create a strong pipeline for entry level opportunities at McDonald’s. After a successful completion of the 10-week program, interns are evaluated for conversion opportunities.
