Mai Vang - Nominee for Rising Star Award

Mai Vang is a Senior Early Careers Recruiter at UnitedHealth Group. In her role at UnitedHealth Group, Mai is responsible for the development and implementation of the campus recruiting strategy for the Technology Development Program in the following markets: MA, PA, CT and NJ. Prior to her role as a recruiter, Mai was a Talent Acquisition Project Management Intern within the diversity team, where she collaborated with the Diversity Lead to facilitate various diversity events, webinars, and trainings. Mai is passionate about connecting with college students and helping them reach their career passion.

Career Highlight

Mai led multiple I&D efforts to attract and retain gender diverse talents through her partnership with United Women Leading in Technology (UWLIT), Society of Women Engineers, and student organizations. Mai coordinated 4 UWLIT Virtual Career Readiness events introducing female college students to the company and provided information about the Early Careers programs. About 50 students attended, 14 were interviewed, and 8 received offers. This contributed to an increase in the gender diversity rate for our Technology Development Program that UHG has not seen in previous years.
