Demonstrated Investment in Early Career Hiring

Respect for coworkers, partners, and customers — no matter their background — has always been a foundational part of LogicMonitor’s company culture. LMers operate as #OneTeam, and believe every individual has equal value in this world. LogicMonitor instills a culture of respect, diversity, equality, and inclusion as an essential part of the workplace. By investing in early career talent, with a focus on diverse and underrepresented students in STEM, these programs can foster the next generation of diverse leaders in tech, and help close the diversity gap in STEM careers. The team is thrilled to offer an early careers program that provides opportunities for students to break into the tech world, and prepare them with real-world skills for their careers.

Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment

When it comes to early career recruitment, LogicMonitor’s strategy focuses on reaching diverse and underrepresented talent, especially those pursuing sales and STEM degrees where the diversity and gender gap is the largest. LogicMonitor’s talent acquisition team partners with universities with diverse student bodies, and works with student organizations like the UT Women’s Council to spread opportunities to students from all backgrounds. LogicMonitor attended over 20 in-person and virtual recruiting events at universities this past spring and summer. Additionally, the company has a strong partnership with Code2College, a non-profit organization that aims to increase the number of underrepresented students choosing to enter STEM fields, working with them to provide interview practice, resume tips, workshops, and even hosting Code2College interns this past summer. To make the internships as inclusive as possible, LogicMonitor also championed remote internships to open these opportunities to all locations.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

DEI initiatives start at the beginning with LogicMonitor’s hiring process. The recruiting team has a consistent procedure for removing biased language from job descriptions, and the recruiters challenge job requirements, like degrees from top schools, that will eliminate diverse candidates. The interview process is standardized so all candidates are treated with consistency, fairness, and equity. LogicMonitor’s onboarding program provides new hires with the tools and resources needed to be successful in their roles, and introduces them to a variety of company employee resource groups: Pride@LM, Women@LM, POC@LM, and Neurodiverse@LM. Several departments have established new hire buddy programs, enabling them to have support from an experienced LMer. In addition, LogicMonitor has a DEI Specialist focused on DEI efforts across the company, such as hosting a recent company fireside chat with community groups to discuss diversity efforts and upcoming initiatives.

Impactful Internship Program

LogicMonitor’s internship program provides students with the opportunity to work on real projects and problems, and are able to see the real-time impacts of their summer contributions. The program also takes a holistic approach: LogicMonitor hosts several workshops and roundtable sessions during the summer, covering topics such as time management, professional networking, presentation skills, and other soft skills early career talent will need to be successful in their careers. For intern managers, LogicMonitor provides intern-specific training in advance, enabling them to offer a positive and impactful experience catered to their interns’ experience level. LogicMonitor also immerses interns into the company culture through community groups, hobby Slack channels, in-person and virtual events, company All Hands and Town Halls with executives, and having them share a final company-wide presentation on their experience.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

A new hire’s journey starts with LogicMonitor’s onboarding program, where they are introduced to their teams, tools, resources, receive welcome swag, and learn about LogicMonitor’s core values. LogicMonitor quickly immerses new LMers into Slack channels, ERGs, and a shared Belonging@LM calendar full of events and connection opportunities. LogicMonitor heavily invests in L&D programming, providing entry-level hires with training, product briefings, learning sessions on tools like Zoom and Slack, and even certifying LMers in the product. As part of LogicMonitor’s commitment to fostering early talent, the team has career mapping to show entry-level hires advancement opportunities and what skills they need to develop. Managers perform regular check-ins, and a quarterly review process is in place so LMers are always provided with feedback and empowerment for professional growth. LogicMonitor even offers professional development funds so LMers can attend conferences, webinars, or pay for certifications and continuing education.
