Kaylan is an Emerging Talent Manager at Schellman. As an Emerging Talent Manager, Kaylan is responsible for all campus recruiting nationally for Schellman. She also ensures continued touchpoints for the new hire associates throughout their first year in the Emerging Talent Program. Previously, Kaylan was a Campus Recruiter at BKD (now FORVIS) and was in charge of campus recruiting for two offices; one being the largest in the firm. Kaylan is extremely passionate about helping students navigate their first steps into the working world, especially with first generation students.
Career Highlight
"Since being at Schellman, I have set up multiple ways to receive feedback from our current and previous associate classes as to how we can continue improving our program. This feedback has continuously led to a trend of Gen Z preferring a lot of detailed and frequent communication. In understanding this, I have set up multiple virtual information sessions throughout the recruiting season for candidates and interested students to join. They will learn more about who we are at Schellman, learn more about what the day-to-day life of an associate will look like, and how to grow their career. We also do regular Zoom ‘Class Chats’ for our incoming associates to ask questions, get to know one another, and learn more about Schellman. I create and send several newsletters to our accepted students during the time they are finishing up their last semester leading up to their start date to ensure they are keeping up with the happenings of the firm and feel included. It seems to help our incoming Gen Z associates prepare and paint the mental picture in their mind as to what the role will look like once they start."
