Janae Allen - Nominee for Talent Innovator Award - 2022 Campus Recruiting Choice Awards

Janae is an Early Career Recruiting Specialist at JLL. In their role at JLL, Janae is responsible for attracting and recruiting early career talent into the commercial real estate space. Prior to their role at JLL, Janae did campus recruiting at Huron Consulting Group. Janae is passionate about mentoring and making the recruiting process less intimidating for students, by providing the tools and resources that will help students present their best selves throughout the process. 'Stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready’, is the mantra Janae shares with students to encourage them to learn about and utilize resources prior to needing them as well as advocating for themselves!

Career Highlight

During the rise of racial tension in 2020, Janae discovered an opportunity to create a series of events related to various diversity topics, including Navigating Identity in the Workplace, Breaking Barriers: Women in Leadership, and Let’s be Real: Understanding Bias and Privilege. The focus of these events was to provide students with the space to engage in crucial conversations, learn how to embrace differences, as well as best practices on how to navigate difficult situations. By creating an engaging event series that featured panels, employee experiences, and Q&A; the event series resulted in about 300 attendees and was featured as one of the highest rated events by students during Huron Consulting Group’s Fall 2020 recruiting season.
