Isabella Brito
Early Careers Partner II
Navy Federal Credit Union
Nominated For: The Rising Star Award
“As an Early Careers Partner, Isabella Brito focuses on recruitment efforts and enhancing the scope and structure of Navy Federal Credit Union’s early career programs. Isabella is primarily responsible for recruitment for the Summer Associate Program, a 12-week internship program open to all degree-seeking students. Summer Associate interns contribute to specific in-demand skills such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, cloud computing, data science, cybersecurity, strategy, and operations for their designated business units and work on projects that positively impact and align with the organization’s enterprise strategy.
As a former intern herself, Isabella has an innate dedication to attracting and retaining early talent, acting as a passionate ambassador for early career programs, and advocating for interns across the enterprise. To provide a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, Isabella proactively schedules regular touchpoints with candidates to identify opportunities to support them further in their journey. Isabella promotes transparency in the application, interview, and selection processes and timelines through thoughtful and insightful discussions with candidates regarding the hiring and onboarding journeys. Once selected, Summer Associate interns can look forward to a structured onboarding process, emphasizing mentorship offerings and bi-weekly office hours that allow for one-on-one recruiter connection time. Isabella’s personal touch and emphasis on pre-internship touchpoints have contributed to increased candidate retention and engagement.
Isabella continues to increase the visibility of Navy Federal Credit Union’s early career programs and job opportunities by hosting virtual informational sessions for students nationwide, as well as career fair attendance and engagement with local college and university student organizations. At national conferences, such as the Grace Hopper Celebration and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers’ annual convention, she actively engages with attendees from an extensive network of talent communities and provides information about the organization, company culture, and internship programs. Isabella prioritizes an inclusive recruitment process by leveraging a school-agnostic approach to identify talent for early career programs. Isabella’s focus on leveraging a variety of candidate resources to increase engagement at conferences has resulted in numerous successful hires for Navy Federal Credit Union’s award-winning internship programs.”
