Building an Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruiting

While every team has had adapt to new styles of campus recruiting in a virtual world, IQVIA has worked to get creative and find ways to reach students in new and exciting ways. They have hosted many multi-school sessions with thought provoking topics such as Diversity in Clinical Trials, Improving Health Equity and additional professional development topics. IQVIA has attended over 80 virtual campus events in 2021 and is looking forward to seeing students in person again in the future. They have attended and hosted a wide range of events, but always ensure for ample Q&A time, they want to hear from the students!

Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience

The IQVIA Early Talent team believes candidate experience is the most important part of recruitment. They work diligently to move students through the process with ease and provide important updates along the way. The team at IQVIA is able to relate and connect with the students they are considering – acting as an advocate for them, hoping they decide to join the team. They ensure students have all of the tools they need to demonstrate their skills and personalities effectively during interviews. IQVIA has a candidate experience survey as well, to be able to implement feedback they receive. Overall, IQVIA believes paths can always cross again and it's great to have a positive network!

Moving the Needle on Diversity & Inclusion

The IQVIA Early Talent team has a personal and passionate interest in growing the organization's diversity from the ground up. They feel strongly that it starts with hiring in entry level roles and can really open the doors for the rest of the organization. IQVIA has partnered with many HBCUs, hosted events around Diversity in Clinical Trials and Health Equity and has also sponsored the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Institute Conference. IQVIA focuses on unconscious bias trainings with their hiring managers and recruitment team and strives to make sure they are hiring the best candidate for the job, every time. The Early Talent team is also closely partnering with IQVIA ERGs.

Investing in Impactful Internship Programs

The IQVIA Internship Program in North America has grown leaps and bounds over the last 5 years. In 2021, they hosted 110 Summer Interns and are expecting this number to grow for Summer 2022! There are many events planned over the Summer, even a virtual talent show for the interns to show their stuff! IQVIA focuses on network building between the interns themselves and also with the organization as a whole. President level leaders enjoying coming for Fireside Chats - just casual convos with the interns to tell their career stories, advice and answer questions. The IQVIA interns get exposure to the 70,000+ person organization by multiple Speaker Series events & Former Intern Panel discussions!

Supporting the Growth and Development of Entry-Level Talent

IQVIA has a leadership development program which offers entry level graduates an opportunity to learn life cycle consulting from the ground up. This training also allows fellow new hires to build camaraderie, cross train and network with various levels of leadership. IQVIA is working to build out similar training programs in different areas of the business including tech and clinical roles. It's proven to be a great entry point into the organization and has truly set up entry level hires for success!
