The early careers and entry level recruitment team at Horizon Media make it personal when connecting with all talent. That's why they go the extra mile to ensure candidates have a positive experience interacting with Horizon Media from start to end. A few ways the team at Horizon Media creates this positive experience is by ensuring candidates are aware of the various opportunities within Horizon, understand the roles and responsibilities for each, and make certain the candidate is pursuing areas that they are genuinely motivated and excited by. Once this is all done, the recruiters will prepare candidates for team interviews and follow up afterwards to gain feedback and ways of improvement.

Moving the Needle on Diversity & Inclusion

Horizon Media is invested and intentional in growing diverse talent starting at entry-level. That’s why the Campus Recruitment team is motivated in finding and connecting with a diverse range of students across the nation. The team has built new partnerships with student-led organizations such as NABA, or BEAM, Black and Latinx Student Commerce Networks to recruit diverse slates of candidates. They have also forged new relationships with HBCUs within the tristate area and public universities. Some of these partners include Binghamton, UVA, CCNY, Delaware State, and Morgan State. Once onboarded, Horizon is proud to provide support through mentorship, BRGs and development programs.

Investing in Impactful Internship Programs

At Horizon Media, interns are paired with mentors in the business to expose them to more of what they are interested in. Leaders are invested in providing them with additional information on various departments and networking opportunities. Horizon Media interns are empowered with impactful work that contribute to real business outcomes, in addition to the inclusive, welcoming experience created by mentors, supervisors and all those interacted with. Supporting the Growth and Development of Entry-Level Talent

Horizon Media goes above and beyond to set up their new full-time hires for long-term success at the company. The GoLearn department facilitates many trainings new hires can take part in including learning the foundations of media and of the various departments in the agency. In addition, there are workshops available year-round on improving business writing skills and how to build your own brand. These examples demonstrate how Horizon Media is invested in the professional development of employees.
