Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

HashiCorp is proud to note that 57% of their 2023 class of interns are part of underrepresented groups, and 51% of the incoming class identifies as female. HashiCorp is focused on recruiting and developing diverse individuals who will become the next generation of leaders. The company is always looking for ways to diversify the pipeline and does this through intentional sourcing efforts and strategic partnerships with diversity focused organizations. Internally, the recruitment team partners with employee resource groups that lead intern specific events and encourage interns to join their communities. The team has also coordinated activities such as Intro to ASL classes and a DIY Brazilian chocolate making class with external partners.

Standout Candidate Experience

The HashiCorp team looks for candidates who are passionate about their chosen path, and demonstrate the ability to be coachable. Interviews are designed to assess coachability. Interviewers want to help during the conversation and will work with students to problem solve. The HashiCorp team also worked to create a standardized and simplified interview flow that is suitable for all hiring teams. The process is outlined on their website for candidates, along with tips to preparing for one's interview.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

HashiCorp offers remote and onsite internship opportunities while creating interactive experiences which create a network of support. Executive Leadership members are highly accessible to interns, and make time to meet with them to share advice. HashiCorp interns are also embedded within teams giving them chances to learn about key business processes and implement tangible ideas. While the program runs for 12 weeks, interns may be granted extension opportunities, allowing them to continue building on skills and relationships with team members. HashiCorp also provides an opportunity for eligible students to convert to full time following graduation. Students with later graduation dates may be offered a return internship.
