Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

GM’s early career talent team’s recruiting strategy focuses on investment in technology platforms to enable a school agnostic outreach. Being inclusive to schools all-across the US has enabled GM to personally reach out to students on campuses where they may not have had a presence otherwise, increasing their reach and the visibility of their opportunities. Additionally, GM’s digital outreach is supplemented by direct campus engagement led by internal campus teams. Student engagements take place virtually and in-person and include attendance at career fairs, GM information sessions, resume workshops and more. These events help inform students of the GM brand and vision of a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion.

Impactful Internship Program

GM’s summer internship program offers students the chance to gain real-world experience in their desired field. Outside of their day-to-day responsibilities, GM also offers numerous learning and social opportunities such as a “Who We Are” speaker series highlighting different employees at GM and their roles, as well as other highlights of GM’s business that interns would not otherwise have access to. Also, in partnership with the Jumpstart ERG, (Employee Resource Group) GM hosts virtual and in-person social events that include networking, trivia, city tours and other experiences to keep our interns engaged. Lastly, GM interns participate in a student video challenge which takes on a new theme each year, encouraging interns around the globe to collaborate on teams and compete to create content.
