Building an Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruiting
Through this everchanging landscape of University Recruiting, Freddie Mac has worked to be at the forefront of this evolution. During the Summer 2020, they continued with their intern recruitment and program by shifting to be all virtual. This allowed for managers and interns alike to keep the experience they so deserved. With the implementation of a new CRM, Freddie Mac began hosting school-agnostic events open to all to learn more about who they are as a company and the opportunities they have available. Knowing that there was great talent outside of their local universities, Freddie Mac began investing in diverse external partners to host resume workshops and information sessions to bring awareness to their opportunities to students that normally would not have learned of their programs.
Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience
The University Recruiting team at Freddie Mac recognizes that students have many competing demands and responsibilities. Their team doesn't want to make finding a job an additional stress for them. Their team of three works hard to make sure their candidate's have a good experience with Freddie Mac starting from application through their entire career journey. Some of the practices they employ are providing detailed understanding of their recruitment process including timeframes, expectations and resources to help them exceed. Freddie Mac also ensures that there is constant communication between them and all candidates, so students are aware of where they are within the process. If a student ever has a question, the University team works to find the best person to answer that question whether it it is one of them, a hiring manager, program lead or executive.
