The Pillars of an Award-Winning Program
Eide Bailly LLP was selected as a 2023 Campus Forward Award Winner for their unwavering commitment to seeking out and hiring early career talent, their emphasis on diversity & inclusion, and investments in nurturing and retaining the next generation of talent. Please see below for the highlights of their approach to early career recruitment.
Demonstrated Investment in Early Career Hiring
Entry-level talent brings new insights, ideas, and drive that will help Eide Bailly reach the goal of doubling its revenue by 2030, while remaining a connected, people-first firm. The interns and entry-level associates of today will be the senior managers and partners of tomorrow. That’s why Eide Bailly is committed to connecting with, providing positive experiences for, and leaving lasting impressions on students pursuing careers in accounting, technology, and consulting. Eide Bailly believes this starts with the very first interaction staff has with students on campus and goes all the way through the day they move from associate to senior associate.
Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment
Eide Bailly knows that students want to connect directly with professional staff who are working in the roles they want to go into. As such, professional staff, not recruiters, are directed to spend their time and energy attending campus events and connecting with students, even during busy seasons! In the background, the Eide Bailly Campus Recruiters and Diversity Advisor invest their time in planning and executing innovative events, such as Meet Eide Bailly Day, the Summer Leadership Program, and Eide Bailly 360: An Inside Look at Our Culture. These events help students learn about the culture at Eide Bailly and provide an opportunity to develop their professional skills. Eide Bailly Talent Acquisition also spends time connecting with hundreds of schools across the country, posting positions school-agnostic, and utilizing Campus Ambassadors (former interns and future associates) to connect with a diverse pool of candidates.
Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
Eide Bailly hired a Diversity Recruiting Advisor who helps the Talent Acquisition Team develop successful strategies to recruit underrepresented talent. A few examples include encouraging staff to share their pronouns in their email signature and at events, connecting with identity-based student groups such as Women in Business, and exploring international student hiring. In addition to recruiting diverse talent, Eide Bailly also focuses on creating an inclusive firm where every employee feels like they can be their full, authentic self at work. As a part of that goal, Eide Bailly has created four new ERGs, including Diversified (for staff of color), My Eide Pride (for LGBTQIA staff), a veteran’s group, and a women’s group in 2022. At the annual DEI forum, staff can develop a greater sense of what DEI means to them personally and explore how it is central to the firm’s success.
Impactful Internship Program
Before interns even start with Eide Bailly, they are assigned an Eide Guide, a staff member who serves as a point person to help them stay connected to the firm in between when they accept their offer and when they start, and to feel prepared for the internship. These relationships continue through the duration of the internship and often result in lasting mentorship relationships. In addition, Eide Bailly partners are always available to interns for formal work-related questions or to simply connect with. As a people-first firm, Eide Bailly wants interns to feel like an integral part of the team, and have access to senior leadership. Eide Bailly views interns no different than associates, meaning interns are provided robust training and start client-facing work within weeks of their start. Interns are provided an opportunity to serve a variety of industries, which often helps inform long-term career goals.
Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent
Eide Bailly goes above and beyond for its full-time hires to ensure that it is a place where they can grow their career. Full-time staff are assigned a career advisor, who is a formal mentor that staff meet with at various times throughout the year, to talk about career development and goals. Eide Bailly also offers an Xchange program, where internal staff can work in another department for 6-8 weeks to grow their skills. The company also offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that focus on the employee as a whole to ensure that Eide Bailly has happy and healthy employees. A staff favorite is the Lifestyle Spending Account, which gives staff money every year to spend on anything wellness.
