By sharing the goals, execution, and outcomes of their efforts, applicants demonstrated how they’re driving awareness and access to under-the-radar opportunities.
eBay Pathways
“The eBay Pathways Program, now in its third year, empowers software engineering students in the US and Canada. In 2025, this 8-week early identification program focuses on upskilling first-generation computer science college students through virtual sessions and a learning platform for technical practice. The 2024 eBay Pathways program was a transformative initiative for college students, providing a comprehensive journey of coding challenges, mock interviews, and interactive sessions with eBay engineers. Its unique format blended live sessions with asynchronous learning via an online technical platform, allowing students to progress at their own pace. Approximately 100 students completed the final coding assessment, demonstrating their improved skills. RippleMatch's Communities and Events feature facilitated seamless follow-up with participants for software engineering internship consideration. Post-program surveys revealed "Highly Relevant" content and "Highly Engaged" students. Participants valued the interview preparation, the approachable eBay team, and networking opportunities. The Pathways program served as both a learning experience and a chance to explore career paths and eBay's culture. This initiative's impact stems from its tailored support, fostering students' coding and interview confidence. Its unique blend of technical skill development and personal engagement made it a standout experience for Gen Z navigating their career paths.”
