The Highlights of DocuSign's Approach to Early Career Hiring
Building an Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruiting
DocuSign goes beyond what is easy and looks at ROI as a long range measure. Success is not just the number of people at an event or the number of applicants. Success for the DocuSign team is the joy in a voice when they get an offer, the yes to an intern conversion conversation and watching someone grow from the first meeting to year 3 in their career. DocuSign uses social media from LinkedIn to Twitter, and seeks to partner with DEI organizations for long term relationships that support the success of their hiring and the students they represent. DocuSign is not here for a season, but for long term, collaborative partnerships to last many years. The team is diverse as they choose to model the world they endeavor to build.
Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience
DocuSign's goal is to put the humanity back into recruiting at a time when all are feeling siloed and disconnected. The team does their best to provided insights into the entire recruiting process from application to interview to hire. DocuSign endeavors to communicate updates, changes, next steps and ways to prepare for any needed assessments, case studies or presentations and tips on how to be successful in a Zoom interview. The team wants students to know they do this work because they truly enjoy the university space and launching careers is not just a job for the DocuSign team, but is a passion.
Moving the Needle on Diversity & Inclusion
DocuSign utilizes various social media platforms, digs deep into their connections, and partners with diverse schools, clubs, groups and organizations. DocuSign mainly hires interns for conversion but do define several roles as experience roles to hire students earlier in their college careers and build pathways for them to join DocuSign and to share their experiences on campus as ambassadors for students following in their footsteps. DocuSign provides a full year career acceleration program (DocuSign Up) designed to support new grad hires with career decision making, enhancing communication skills and defining ways they can make an impact personally and professionally at DocuSign.
Investing in Impactful Internship Programs
DocuSign defines their summer as the Intern Experience as their goal is for interns to truly experience what a future at DocuSign would feel like. Interns have mentors in addition to managers, real world projects that are career enhancing and make an impact on the work DocuSign does, opportunities to connect cross-functionally (across teams and geo locations!), fun events, contests, weekly career blogs, video career challenges, contests, career coaching as needed and more! The JD, MA.MS and MBA interns also are assigned success teams and participate in smaller leader conversations and fun events. Real work, real life and real opportunity.
Supporting the Growth and Development of Entry-Level Talent
Via the DocuSign UP (Unlimited Potential) Program, DocuSign provides participants with career development guidance to help accelerate career trajectory as they introduce them to the skills essential for successful career growth. The goal is to provide the tools to enhance their preparedness to assume leadership roles and to develop, nurture and empower them to own their career decision making. This is accomplished through facilitated workshops, conversations and an overall supportive learning environment and a community of peers and mentors. The team seeks to hire, develop, promote and retain the exceptional talent that will take DocuSign forward as future leaders.
