Derrick Echoles is the Head of Future Talent at GroupM, the world’s leading media investment company. In his role at GroupM, Derrick is responsible for leading recruitment efforts for early talent programs such as their award-winning Launch Pad Program for new Associates jump-starting their career in media, and their summer internship program. His team’s recruitment efforts include campus recruitment and recruiting non-traditional media talent without a college degree or previous media experience. Prior to his role at GroupM, Derrick was a University Relations Manager at CVS Health, a top 10 fortune company. Derrick brings to GroupM over a decade of experiences in higher education including academic advising, admissions and recruitment, and career services and employer relations. Derrick is passionate about inclusion in the workplace, early identification programs, and connecting the employee experience through corporate social responsibility.
Career Highlight
"In the past year, am most incredibly proud of the growth of the GroupM Future Talent team. Through my leadership, we championed implementing a campus recruitment strategy, which was the first ever to date at GroupM and included diverse institutions across the U.S. We partnered with the City University of New York to host a part-time spring internship program, which was the first ever for us to do, including hosting a diverse cohort of interns with little-to-no work experience. We implemented a monthly virtual information session series for prospective talent to learn more about our early talent opportunities. From campus recruitment feedback from students who desired to visit our offices to gain exposure to our business, I designed 'GroupM Media Immersion Day' open house events in our NYC, CHI, ATL, DET, and LA offices. Aside from the growth and accomplishments of my team, it’s been a joy to witness the journey of Associates through our Launch Pad program climb the career ladder and even volunteer to share their experiences with prospective talent."
