NOMINEE SPOTLIGHT
Career Highlight
"This year, I had the opportunity to partner with several local groups and local schools in the Hartford, CT community where Stanley Black & Decker is headquartered, all with a focus on bringing underrepresented groups into both our internship program and full-time rotational programs. This includes sitting on the board of a newly created Employer Advisory Board of a local CT college with the hopes of helping the institution better prepare its students for future professions. Additionally, I worked with our community engagement team to partner with Hartford Promise, a large-scale scholarship fund working to remove financial barriers to college for Hartford students, to help their students become familiar with our organization and different employment offerings. Similarly, I worked with our University of Hartford champions, to help place our scholars in several different internships this summer and advocate for them throughout the interview process. Our “Be a Force for Good Scholarship” initiative provides a total of $600,000 in scholarships over four years to UHart’s Stanley Black & Decker scholars, focusing on students underrepresented in business, including first-generation and BIPOC college students."
