Winner of The Pathfinder Award

The Pathfinder Award honors the individuals or teams who are boldly expanding the horizon of what’s possible for early career talent. This award recognizes initiatives that help bridge the awareness gap—connecting Gen Z with opportunities they may not have known existed, or may not have realized they were qualified to pursue. Whether through innovative outreach, inclusive programs, or reimagined career pathways, Pathfinder Award recipients are the changemakers ensuring that potential isn’t left on the table simply because someone didn’t know where to look.

The Initiative: Why this Winner Stands Out

To be considered for the Pathfinder Award, individuals had to describe a standout initiative that helped Gen Z candidates discover what’s possible at their companies. By sharing the goals, execution, and outcomes of their efforts, applicants demonstrated how they’re driving awareness and access to under-the-radar opportunities.

Oliver Wyman's First-Year Immersion Program

I created the First-Year Immersion Program to help college freshmen, often overlooked in traditional recruiting, explore consulting as a career path early in their college journey. Designed with Gen Z in mind, the program is dynamic, interactive, and broken into three distinct phases to build awareness, engagement, and skill-building. Phase 1 introduces students to consulting through a virtual info session that breaks down the industry and our firm in accessible language. Phase 2 deepens the experience through a game show-style webinar featuring young consultants sharing real-life insights in a fun, relatable format. Phase 3 offers an introductory case prep session, giving students exposure to the problem-solving style used in consulting and helping them build confidence in their analytical thinking. Across all three phases, we had over 500 students participants from diverse backgrounds and universities. The structure reflects how Gen Z prefers to learn - through storytelling, authenticity, and connection rather than corporate jargon. By meeting students where they are and emphasizing exploration over early commitment, the program demystifies consulting and empowers students to see themselves in roles they might not have considered otherwise.
