Demonstrated Investment in Early Career Hiring

CBRE offers an array of robust, competitive internship programs every summer. 400+ interns were carefully selected for CBRE’s world-class summer programs in 2022. CBRE believes that investing in next generation talent will help shape the future of the company. The campus, early talent and DE&I teams collaborate to identify creative ways to source talent, engage with students both on and off campus, and ensure diversity representations across all intern programs. During the internship program, interns are invited to hear from senior leadership, and participate in a cohort project and local volunteer events, along with company-sponsored networking events.

Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment

The campus team at CBRE is very active both on and off campus. CBRE incorporates unique candidate experiences into the recruiting strategy. The campus team hosts Coffee Chats, virtual trivia nights, Summer Chat sessions, Hackathons, and resume-screening workshops. In partnership with the DE&I team & Thurgood Marshall, CBRE hosted an HBCU Roadshow in the fall, visiting several HBCUs across the country and hosting educational sessions focused on resume-building and interviewing skills. CBRE values its external partnerships with Prospanica, National Black MBA, HBCU Connect, Hiring our Heroes and many others as an opportunity to engage with underrepresented talent. During the selection process, CBRE offers both in-person and virtual interviews, along with a digital interview screen, making it a more seamless candidate experience.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

CBRE places high value on ensuring internship programs, regardless of location or service line, are comprised of a diverse set of individuals, as it understands the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. CBRE is most successful when its people bring varying backgrounds, ways of thinking, skillsets, and abilities to the table. CBRE’s Campus Recruiting team partners with student organizations at universities that are laser-focused on diversity. During the spring semester in 2022, CBRE sponsored Dallas’ largest and most inclusive “Hackathon,” intended to empower women and non-binary individuals pursing degrees in STEM. CBRE also partners with organizations like Seizing Every Opportunity, Posse Foundation, CREW, Future Housing Leaders, Project Destined and others to identify and attract top diverse student talent. All summer interns are invited to participate in global Employee Business Resource Groups during their internship. Interns can use networks to form relationships and draw inspiration from fellow employees.

Impactful Internship Program

At CBRE, interns are fully immersed in company culture through a variety of strategic program events, including community outreach, hands-on educational workshops & trainings, networking & social events, and weekly executive webinars where interns get the opportunity to interact directly with senior leaders and even host and moderate the webinars themselves. CBRE Interns can expect to be paired with an experienced manager, as well as a mentor/buddy to help support their growth and development throughout the program and provide them with impactful projects that contribute to business development. Interns will give back to the community through volunteerism, and will connect with their peers through company-sponsored networking events. CBRE also offers online learning through its Kick Start for interns’ development program. Created specifically for interns, Kick Start will immerse interns in fundamentals of commercial real estate and provide resources to help improve their professional skills.
