Casey Wheeler (she/her) is an Early Talent Recruiter at Ginkgo Bioworks, where she is responsible for hiring exceptional talent for Ginkgo’s internship and co-op roles, and executing professional development and social cohort programming. She also serves as co-chair of Ginkgo’s Women & Underrepresented Genders ERG. Casey is passionate about promoting early career access to STEM opportunities for underrepresented students. She is excited to be a part of the Ginkgo team, receiving amazing mentorship from exceptional leaders, and at a place where creativity and bold innovation are celebrated.
Career Highlight
"Our Early Talent program launched in 2022, with a key focus on building a diverse talent pipeline. In the program’s first year, we saw a significant dip in the pass through rate for women candidates in our recruitment process. Our team led coaching sessions with hiring teams, and we ultimately landed with a 2023 cohort made up of 33% women. This year, through strategic sourcing and the ability to share analytics upfront via RippleMatch, I was able to double down on our early-stage efforts to pipeline more women candidates to our teams, resulting in a 2024 cohort made up of 73% women!"
