Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment
The university recruiting team at Boston Beer Company goes above and beyond to connect with the next generation of talent both on and off campus. Adopting a hybrid approach to recruitment, the team has crafted a diverse strategy to hire top talent. The team has attended in-person conferences to provide candidates with face-to-face interactions and share more about Boston Beer, and attend career fairs at universities across the country to provide information sessions to students.
Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
Representation at the entry-level can move the needle on diversity across the company. The Campus team at Boston Beer is passionate about finding diverse talent. In order to do this, the team is building relationships with HBCUs, HSIs, and public universities, as well as attending diversity-focused conferences. When candidates join Boston Beer, there are many employee resource groups they can join and development training programs they can participate in.
Impactful Internship Program
At Boston Beer Company, interns are empowered with impactful projects and learning sessions that contribute to real business outcomes, in addition to an inclusive, welcoming experience. Its Early Talent program is made up of hands-on training in the office and at its breweries. Interns have the chance to meet with leaders at weekly lunch and learns to give them more insight into different parts of the business, along with a final presentation that they present to the business leaders.
Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent
Boston Beer Company goes above and beyond to set up new full-time hires for long-term success at the company — starting with a robust 5-day learning orientation where new hires learn about the history of Boston Beer, its products, and all parts of the business. All of its hires are provided on-the-job training, and have access to a comprehensive training center. Each employee is encouraged to have weekly 1-on-1 check-ins with their manager to ensure their goals are aligned, and they are on the path to success and growth at Boston Beer.
