Standout Candidate Experience
BDO’s core purpose is to help people thrive. This purpose drives the campus recruiting team to find the best fit for each candidate. From the start, BDO’s Pathway to Success program engages students in events and pairs them one-on-one with a mentor to help guide them toward the right career path. The campus team helps ensure a positive experience by providing an environment that allows every candidate to create meaningful relationships. This intentional approach helps each individual navigate which business line, office, or opportunity is the right fit.
Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
To continue building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive culture, BDO has taken meaningful steps to ensure it is attracting, developing and retaining diverse talent at all points along the career path. At the student level, the firm recruits from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and partners with Yello/WayUp, the top diversity, equity and inclusion recruiting platform, reaching students across hundreds of minority-serving institutions. BDO also engages with organizations such as the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) and Ascend—the largest Pan-Asian professional membership organization in North America. The firm is involved with these organizations through national and regional conference participation, career fairs and local on-campus recruiting events.
Impactful Internship Program
BDO’s internship program is designed to train, guide, and educate students on a career path at BDO. The intern experience begins by engaging with professionals across different levels and business lines, and also includes the opportunity to interact with clients. Interns are exposed to real-world challenges alongside seasoned professionals who coach and teach along the way. Each person is assigned a career advisor to mentor them throughout the internship and contribute to a positive and meaningful experience. Interns participate in local office trainings and community service events. They also attend national trainings and directly interact with leadership, allowing for discussions on various topics such as career paths, soft skills and technical skills.
