The Highlights of Anheuser-Busch's Approach to Early Career Hiring
Building an Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruiting
Faced with another year of virtual recruiting, the talent acquisition team at Anheuser-Busch ensured students didn't suffer from Zoom fatigue. The team crafted a diverse set of virtual events ranging from case competitions, to Passion Speaker Series and external Industry Panels. Additionally, they planned strategic school agnostic events open to all students and DEI Partnership events connecting students to members of employee resource groups at A-B. Beyond events, the team invested in their former interns to act as brand ambassadors and spread the word about Anheuser-Busch.
Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience
Anheuser-Busch has built their recruitment and selection process to cater to the needs of the Gen Z job seeker. For example, the team utilizes technologies like RippleMatch and Pymetrics to ensure candidates have a top notch, personalized experience. Anheuser-Busch also involves their employee base in the interview process, providing students with better insight into the value the company places on their people.
Moving the Needle on Diversity & Inclusion
Anheuser-Busch’s approach to recruitment this year was university agnostic, meaning the focus was on the candidate profile and not the school they attended. RippleMatch made this strategy come to life by allowing the team to host open virtual recruitment events, which reached over 73K students across 50 states and 1,200 schools. They also launched several internship programs with their I&D partners including SheBelieves and Make-A-Play in addition to longstanding partnerships with organizations including MLT, HSF, AdFellows, and more.
Investing in Impactful Internship Programs
Anheuser-Busch rose to challenges posed by COVID-19 with their immersive 8-week virtual experience. The early career team worked hard to ensure that the virtual learning experience they built showcased their organization, internal initiatives, and priorities, and replicated the in-person experience. These initiatives included peer mentorship, leadership virtual chats focused on capabilities, and I&D learning opportunities and events. The interactive virtual internship experience Anheuser-Busch created was extremely successful and resulted in an extremely high intern to full-time hire conversion rate.
Supporting the Growth and Development of Entry-Level Talent
Anheuser-Busch's Early Career Programs are crafted to fast-track the careers of future leaders. Each program is designed to stimulate leadership development for individuals kickstarting their careers or have a few years of professional experience. Individuals will gain first-hand experience within the business functions and the world of A-B. Anheuser-Busch offers full-time programs that provide empowering, challenging, and impactful opportunities.
