Andrew Jones - Nominee for Talent Innovator Award - 2022 Campus Recruiting Choice Awards

Andrew Jones is an Early Careers Partner, designated to recruit and manage internship programs, at Navy Federal Credit Union. He is responsible for hiring efforts for year-round, summer, and Year Up interns for STEM, business, and operations roles. Andrew is passionate about diversity, inclusion and belonging and sharing Navy Federal’s mission in supporting the military community as an employer of choice. Andrew hosts events with diversity STEM student organizations, such as NSBE and SHPE. He also hosts workshops to welcome students and facilitates quarterly career development events including resume and interview sessions. He created a LinkedIn welcome group for the 2022 Summer Intern incoming cohort. Andrew also enhanced the program by supporting the inaugural internship mentorship.

Career Highlight

Andrew was essential in the evolution of Navy Federal Credit Union's Summer Internship Program in a competitive early-careers labor market. He identified the specific requirements from the reporting leaders, sourced, interviewed, and selected the candidates on behalf of the program. Andrew created a LinkedIn welcome group for the interns as well as hosted networking events before the program started to help connect interns with one another before their first day on the job. During the Summer program, he hosted development sessions and provided regular connection points. Andrew orchestrated the recruitment, development and retention of the Summer Internship by delivering on an exceptional intern experience.
