Alexis Polanco is a Diversity Recruiter with ten years of experience in campus recruiting and diversity program development. She currently sits on the Early Careers Business Talent Acquisition team at Bloomberg LP. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Alexis was the North America Head of Campus Recruiting for Sales, Trading and Research at JP Morgan. Alexis started her career as a Corporate Real Estate paralegal at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP, followed by two years within learning and development at Goldman Sachs, where she focused on the creation and management of developmental programs and diversity trainings for the organization. Alexis has her Masters from New York University (NYU) and her bachelors in Science from Lasell University. Alexis is a diversity champion with a passion for helping organizations implement diversity strategies which align with their goals. In her free time, Alexis enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
Career Highlight
"Gen Zs that started college during COVID have one of the most challenging times transitioning to the workplace and understanding the interview process. Building connection is important to them while showing their authentic self. To help solve the challenges that come with interviews, our diversity team takes a white glove approach with candidates for each stage of the recruiting process. This ranges from providing resume feedback and allowing a candidate to reapply, to preparing each candidate one-on-one prior to interviews. A large part of our white glove process is to ensure candidates are clear on next steps, but also have practice to help upskill prior to meeting the business. One program that I created is called CUNY launch which is focused on local NY talent. The program is a two-week hybrid boot camp program which helps prep students for interviews."
