Al Jackson is a Senior Manager of Campus Diversity at Verizon. In his role at Verizon, Al Jackson is responsible for managing relationships with universities, professional organizations and other avenues that engage diverse talent. Al identifies trends and leverages knowledge, data and competitive intelligence to customize diversity strategies in each segment. Al is the driving force behind the success of Verizon’s Executive Sponsor and Campus Ambassador program supporting a variety of diversity initiatives. Prior to his current role, Al led University Relations where he developed and executed a comprehensive university relations strategy that continues to advance the Verizon brand and supports their diversity, inclusion, and talent pipelines. Al is forever an inclusion advocate, dedicated to building a culture where everyone belongs.
Career Highlight
"I was thrilled to re-launch Verizon’s Diversity Campus Ambassador program with multiple Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) to enhance diversity in our internship programs.The Ambassador program allows enthusiastic Verizon employees to drive emerging talent to apply to open roles, with the benefit of our support system along the way. Through this program, we organized numerous on-campus events at select schools and held virtual events open to all students. Moreover, we established connections with student organizations, offering assistance and career growth opportunities to members, including lower-level students."
