Demonstrated Investment in Early Career Hiring

ADP is passionate about nourishing early-career talent, beginning with a best-in-class internship program that leads to full-time opportunities in one of its Early Career Development programs. ADP is committed to bringing in diverse talent through its campus programs, investing time on campus, hosting workshops on “Building Your Brand” or “How to Navigate a Career Fair”, and conducting mock interviews so students feel confident heading into their next interview. The next generation of talent inspires current ADP leaders and associates to think differently, listen to fresh ideas, and think about how to make a company that has been around for 73 years stay relevant to the current market.

Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment

The campus team at ADP welcomed the hybrid approach at its core schools this year. ADP's highlight this fall was being recognized at Grace Hopper as the 2022 Top Large Company for Women Technologists for the third year in a row! Plus, ADP is in its seventh year of hiring for its IT Development Program, having grown the program 300% since its inception. Another early-career recruitment strategy that ADP has is its four HCM Academies at its core schools in strategic locations. ADP has partnered with University of Texas El Paso, Arizona State University, Old Dominion University and the University of Central Florida in building a curriculum that provides students the opportunity to use ADP HCM software in their lab & engage with ADP leaders. The goals of the academies are to promote the ADP brand on campus, offer internships & full-time opportunities, and provide real-world learning for students, regardless of what company they begin their career with.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

The ADP Campus Team has proven that hiring diverse talent at the entry-level stage is the best way to move the diversity needle forward across the entire organization. The hiring of underrepresented talent for the Global Product and Technology program is outpacing the current IT population — and it hit double-digits this year. The team's success is attributed to its focus on partnerships with HBCUs, HSIs, national partnerships such as Grace Hopper and Prospanica, as well as grassroots efforts at its core schools with diverse student organizations. The diversity recruiting strategy has become part of the fabric of the overall campus strategy; it's innate, not forced, nor deliberate, it's just what the team does!

Impactful Internship Program

ADP has a robust internship program for its Global Product and Technology department with over 200 interns. The program prides itself on its conversion rate, with over 75% conversion YoY. The students are empowered to work on projects that consist of real business problems. They are considered part of the team, and their voice has as much weight and respect as their peers who are full-time associates of ADP. In addition to their projects, they participate in the lunch-and-learn speaker series, panel discussions with leaders as well as former interns, a corporate social responsibility event, and a project fair where they showcase their work to the Global Product and Technology leaders. The summer is a fun-filled experience showcasing ADP's culture, hence the strong conversion rate year-after-year.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

ADP realizes the value in investing in its people, not just in the beginning but being with them throughout their journey. The company’s early-career development programs range from 2.5 to 3 years, depending on the function. These are coveted programs that give new hires exposure to not only meet senior leaders, but also the opportunity to present to them. They are also given mentors and buddies to shepherd them along their journey. The HR Development program is a rotational program allowing the new hires to experience all of the HR disciplines, including an international assignment. The program is in its third year, and has grown 700% since its inception. ADP recognizes the importance of being a part of something bigger and having a sense of belonging, and these development programs afford early-career talent that opportunity.
