Summer Internship Program

Echo held its internship program 100% virtually, hosting 41 interns. The company offered internships in Carrier Sales, Client Sales, Technology, and Managed Transportation. Each virtual program lasted between five and ten weeks, depending on the department. They also provided a mentorship program to help interns get the most out of their experience.

Virtual Recruitment

Echo aimed to have candidates feel as prepared as possible for the virtual process. So the team compiled and sent one-pagers on "How to Interview Virtually" to every candidate. Echo also worked extensively with internal staff to ensure they were trained and prepared to give the best experience possible. Throughout the recruitment process, Echo utilized virtual one-on-ones, webinars, videos of Echo employees, and panels.

Candidate Experience

Another challenge the team faced this year was that Echo Global Logistics is especially proud of its office and showcasing it in the interview process – so the shift into virtual was not ideal. But the team got creative and put together videos and pictures of the office, gathered quotes about Echo culture, and implemented virtual calls as much as possible for events. All of these factors enabled Echo to provide a feel for the company culture without stepping in the office.

Diversity and Inclusion

Echo has a longstanding dedication to diversity in the workplace. The company is especially proud of its D&I committee, which works directly with the recruitment team to reach representation goals. The Echo talent team partners with different Employee Resource groups like Women at Echo and Military Group leaders. Echo is also partnered with Door of Club to engage the contacts of diverse leaders from across the US. Echo also partners with the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement and utilizes tools like Handshake to reach more diverse candidates.

Congratulations to Echo Global Logistics for their accomplishments this past year. RippleMatch is proud to recognize Echo in our 2021 Campus Forward Awards for their commitment toward the next generation of talent.
