Credera’s ability to create a hyper-personal virtual recruitment strategy and pull off a virtual internship set the team apart this year. Candidate experience remained at the heart of their decisions and shaped all interactions with candidates, from first introduction to the end of their process.

Summer Internship Program
Like many companies, Credera had to quickly pivot to a virtual internship program for the summer of 2020. The internship culminated in Credera’s first ever Leadership Development Conference. The program provided students the opportunity to learn universally applicable leadership skills with a values-centric agenda meant to reflect the heart of Credera. The conference was extremely successful and the team plans to make it an annual tradition for Credera interns going forward.
While switching to fully remote recruiting, Credera kept a candidate-centric approach at the heart of their strategy. Instead of typical large-scale info sessions, Credera decided that they had a better chance of building meaningful relationships with students if they met one-on-one. They used their passionate employees to divide and conquer the completion of hundreds of coffee chats. Credera was able to connect each and every candidate with at least one Crederian so students could ask questions about employee experiences. Additionally, Credera launched a new Campus Recruiting Content team, dedicated to building and sharing social media posts, presentations, and other purposeful content with students to advertise Credera’s open positions.
Credera’s shift to a virtual recruiting environment has allowed the team to put an even stronger emphasis on candidate experience. They prioritized keeping communication with candidates timely and personal. In a post-offer recruitment survey, when students were asked about their experience recruiting with Credera, nearly 100% of them commented on their quick and thoughtful communications. The campus team held themselves to an extremely high standard, responding to all student queries in the same business day and communicating decisions on next steps within 1-2 days of their previous interview.
Diversity and Inclusion
Credera’s campus recruiting team has long prioritized D&I in their strategy. In order to ensure an inclusive recruiting process, Credera trains all staff to adopt more open-minded and unbiased behaviors with Unconscious Bias Training. In addition, when they restructured their strategy to be more candidate-centric rather than school-centric, they were able to reach more diverse schools and engage larger pools of candidates, including students from a wide selection of HBCUs.
