Summer Internship Program

Applied Materials hosted a completely virtual internship program this year in the midst of COVID-19. While students were unable to go into the office, the early career team worked hard to bring Applied Materials to interns’ homes. This included virtual ramping and training sessions, intern events, and more.

Virtual Recruitment

The early career team maintained university relationships this year, albeit virtually. Instead of adopting a wait-and-see approach, the team sprung into action and began outreach, connecting with their partner schools to plan virtual events. Some of these virtual events included career fairs and diversity events at national conferences. Applied Materials also continued sponsoring student clubs and organizations, virtually maintaining their partnerships. These partnerships have allowed the Applied Materials team to continuously reach a wide student base.

Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity & Inclusion is a core pillar of Applied Material’s values. At the entry level, Applied Materials targets diverse student bases to increase their talent reach. The early career team, specifically, partners with diverse student organizations at universities across the country. Applied Materials’ Employee Resource Group also partners with the recruiting team to participate at targeted activities, including National Conferences.
